UPDATE: Hello internet traveler, we at Coin App are glad you’ve found this page, but the teaser image you see below is now old news. Click here if you’d like to see the latest screenshots and video from the game!

Coin App is pleased to announce our first game currently in production, Max Blastronaut.  Classic, fast-paced action hits the outer limits of space in our freshman release.  We’re not going to leak any details just yet, but for now enjoy our teaser image!

We’ve already done the standard issue “about” page on coinapp.com, but there are some things we’ve left out to keep that page short, sweet, and press-friendly.  For example, did you know that Dan is a real-life Eagle Scout?  Or that Panya was born in Papua New Guinea?  If you didn’t know these amazing facts, read on and allow your mind to be blown.

There are three of us here at Coin App: Panya (the designer), Dan (the artist), and me (Pat, the programmer).  Our average age is 25, but our average maturity is arguably much lower.  We are friends in real-life.  We are total nerds.  Panya built his own arcade cabinet a while back.

We try to catch at least one new movie a week together, at which time our girlfriends tolerate our sometimes questionable cinematic taste (we seriously paid money to watch “Crank,” don’t ask me why).  Greek place, Piezano’s, Pita Jungle, Delux, and Einstein Bro’s Bagels currently round out our top five favorite food spots.  In-and-Out Burger comes in at a very close 6th ever since we found out they will make you a grilled cheese sandwich if you ask nicely for it (even though it’s not on the menu).  How awesome is that?

There are far too many great websites to which we lose valuable development time nearly every single day.  In no specific order, we dig Kotaku, Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Devbump, Gamasutra, TigSource, 1UP, IO9, Emusic, Audible, Cyanide and Happiness, and The Perry Bible Fellowship.  We try to stay up on game industry news, and we’re currently looking forward to Machinarium, Gish 2, World of Goo, Minotaur China Shop, and basically anything from Q Entertainment.

Our shared goal is creating games that are fun for a lot of people.

Hopefully you’ll stay tuned to our website in the coming months as we release more info about our current project.  Subscribe to our RSS feed or check back soon!

Coin App has officially formed and is open for business!  It’s been a fantasy until today… now it’s time to “do our own thing,” as other indie studios have done in the past.  We’re eager to continue production on our first title, and we look forward to sharing our work with the rest of the gaming community.  Stay Tuned, we’ve got big things coming!
